This is an introductory course in aquatic therapy. It is a two-day comprehensive course in which the student will experience three-dimensional spaces. You will learn to understand what aquatic therapy is and when it is appropriate for your clients. You will experience the properties of water as they relate to movement, and understand the benefits of water therapy techniques. You will also use the element of water as an educational tool to further understand the way the Rolf line relates to its environment. Water affords us three forces to balance within - gravity, buoyancy and water pressure. You will experience these three elements as they relate to core balance. Goals include:
Students will have hands-on experience of various water techniques and experience the physics of water. You will also have an understanding of the effects of water techniques.
Course will be conducted in an indoor warm water pool. The cost for registration is $300. Please pay in full to register. This workshop has 12 hours of IASI Type 1 accreditation. |
