Report on Fascia Research:
Research scientist and Rolfer Robert Schleip reveals the conclusive results of
his three (3) year European Fascia Research project. This will be his
first visit to the US to present his findings and their implications to the
medical and bodywork communities. He visited NY in August 2005 to present
preliminary findings and intrigued the attendees with his newly developed
concepts of fascia/connective tissue being more directly linked into the nervous
system than previously understood. His illuminating description of newly
discovered mechano-receptivity in fascia strongly impacts what we know about how
manual manipulation bodywork stimulates various responses and the untapped
potential thereof. Mr. Schleip will present a new and exciting concept
about the relationship between therapeutic stimulation of fascial mechano-receptivity
and the regulation of fascial tonus by the nervous system. The bodywork
practitioner is now seen as communicating with a self-regulating organism rather
than the sculptor of a plastic medium, as his study redefines the nature of
connective tissue. He will be a lead presenter at the International Fascia
Conference in Boston, MA in October 2007. However, Texas is honored that he has
agreed to make Plano, Texas his premier venue for this long awaited conclusive
report.
